I go through spells where I get really bored with music. Once this happens, I start heavily relying on Spotify to feed me new tunes through its playlists. While on occasion, the algorithm kills it, often, I'm disappointed. Last week, my boyfriend clued me in to something that definitely wasn't on my radar, but also wasn't an immediate let down: Tierra Whack's audio visual album, Whack World.
Each song runs about a minute, and she creatively transitions between beats, chameleoning her way through musical themes and candy colored wonderlands. Some of them feel a bit campy, some feel surprisingly dark (what happened to her dog?!?), but they all flow together in one surprising piece. Cue this one up for your next hangout and you'll be captivated from start to finish.
