when I worked at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, I would take any excuse to stroll through the museum's exquisite Hall of Minerals.  to think that such exquisite and shiny masterpieces come straight from the earth is mind-blowing.  imagine my delight, then, when I stumbled across these mesmerizing paintings on the Benah blog.

Carly Waito's paintings are some of the most incredibly stunning, realistic portrayals of anything in the natural world that I've ever seen.  see more of her work here

I love a good illustration more than just about anything, so imagine my surprise when I discovered PAPERFASHION via my Facebook newsfeed!

Katie Rodgers, the brains and talent who is PAPERFASHION, is a fellow Carnegie Mellon alum, and since we have mutual friends I wonder if I have run into her at a party or at the library cafe.  it's such a small world filled with brilliant people!

she's done work for everyone from Madewell to Kate Spade, so keep an eye out for her lovely illustrations!
